Obligatory Thanksgiving Post
Although I can’t have a real Thanksgiving celebration, it doesn’t make me any less thankful for everything that I have in my life.
My Grandparents: I’m thankful for my Grandma and Grandpa who have done everything for me. I would not be who I am today without them. Your sacrifices are infinite and I love you so much that it hurts. I only hope to make you more and more proud.
My Dad: Thanks for always being a voice of reason in a world of chaos. You’ve helped me level my head many times and I won’t forget it.
My Mom: For showing me where my creativity, imagination, and lively spirit come from.
My Uncle Leo: I don’t know how to begin to thank you but I appreciate the kindness and love that you have always shown to me. It means the world.
My Aunt Martha: For encouraging me to travel and explore the world and all its wonder.
The rest of my beautiful family: I could go on individually for hours but I just want everyone to know that I appreciate the support through everything in my life. You’ve been there for me since I was a little baby, a curious young girl, and a moody adolescent. It does not go unnoticed and I love you all in very unique and special ways.
To my friends: Thanks for all the support, the laughs, and the memories. Although I don’t get to see many of you all the time, you are in my heart and mind. Thanks for always trying to keep in touch. For my new friends, thanks for being so amazing and being so kind and open during this time of great change. I hope we will always stay close and in touch.
To everyone else who may read this: Take some time to thank someone today. Not only does it feel good but it’s also good for human morale. We have to lift each other up in order to keep the earth spinning. I love you all. Happy Thankgiving from a silly California girl in Taiwan.

Hello Heidi Kins!!!! I’m at work on Thanksgiving Day putting the finishing touches to an appellate brief (sigh…) And then I thought of you and logged on to your post. I see that you beat us to the punch on this Thanksgiving Day !!! I m so grateful that you are in my life — I still remember the night I met the cute little 9 year old girl. And now she’s a beautiful/brave/daring woman. I’m truly proud of you, MZ HEIDI . Proud of you because you didn’t shy away from the unknown but instead you chose to explorre it — that’s BRAVE and not too many people have the courage to do it as fully as you have. For that, you should be proud. Well, I better finish this job or else I won’t have time to make my spinach salad with pears and candied walnuts. Do you feel like having turkey? Do you miss this most American of holidays? Though I’m not sure the history books are accurate regarding the “communal” dinner between the Indians and the settlers…. oh well, that’s Hollywood for you! Everyday is a celebration so I always wish you the most amazing joy in all your explorations. Remember, WATCH OUT FOR THE MONKEYS, you most unsilly of California girls ( or goils as Diego calls them…) With much Love always, Aunt Martha
I am so proud of you and of course you brought tears to my eyes with your wonderful comments. We had a nice celebration with the family. Your Uncle Leo and his cute boys, Uncle Danny and the sweetest little Mini Danny and of course your silly Grandpa. Your Dad and Robin were not here I guess it is hard to get them out of the house with all their kids. I wish they had been here, you know how much this Grandma loves family gatherings, but maybe they will come for Christmas. You are so right, we need to thank God for everything we have. I mainly thank Him for my family and hope that we stay united and close always. Life is too short not to be close to your family. I love you more than you can imagine. You are the joy and sunshine of my life. Love, Grandma By the way my food all turned out really good !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy Thanksgiving!!
=)
Hello baby girl…thank you for the kind words. I am glad that even though I was not a major influence in your life that you did get some of my positive attributes. You would be proud of me, not anywhere near as proud as I am of you, my school is going great. You are an inspriration for us, and your brother and sister think you are great. If you come to the states let me know and I will do a road trip to see you, and we can have a better time. I love you more than you could ever know. Let me know if you need anything. You are always in my heart and you are in my prayers everyday, love mom
